To all members who want to help recruiting new people. There are some ex-members and some former "friends" of SMT that we will not allow into the guild. This is the blacklist of the guild. Before going to whisper a possible new member or an officer to invite this new member, check this list first.

On a sidenote, don't forget to check with an officer which classes are allowed as we now have a very strict policy on which classes are closed for recruitment and which are allowed.

Blacklist:

TERMS, CONDITIONS AND RULES

The Shadowmane Tribe strive to maintain a mature, fun environment for everyone and unfortunately must enforce a moderate number of rules in order to do so. Should any of these rules be broken, report offending guild members to the Guild Leader and Staff so that further action may be taken to remedy the situation.

1. World of Warcraft Terms of Service: First and foremost, all players must adhere to the Terms of Service agreement that goes along with the game. This covers a lot of inappropriate misconduct that need not even be guild rules; they are game rules.

2. Player Disputes / Arguments: Should a disagreement between two or more guild members occur, the situation will be handled and discussed in a mature manner. There will be no name-calling, player directed profanity, or insults. It is to be understood that each member is different and opinions may vary. If a disagreement cannot be resolved between two people, then the situation should be brought up to an officer for moderation.

3. Profanity / Vulgarity:
Although there is a profanity filter in place, Blizzard has made it clear that profanity in public channels and profanity directed towards other players in an insulting manner is a punishable offense. Not all members of Shadowmane Tribe treat profanity the same, and it is possible that you will be able to use it in the presence of those who do not mind. However, ask first and if you slip up, apologize and take note not to repeat the offense to those who do not appreciate it.

4. Guild Channel: A nicety of being in a guild is having a single chat channel that you can reach all guild members on at once. However, because this reaches quite a number of people, make sure what you say over this channel is not obnoxious, unnecessary and offensive. If you only need to speak with one person, please try to use tells to reduce spam on the screen of other guild members.

5. Griefing: When you join the Shadowmane Tribe, you wear that badge above your head at all times in game. Everything you do is a potential reflection of the guild as a whole. Griefing is a major issue that can backfire on the good name of the guild. Griefing includes a number of things, but it mostly consists of actions that may not be written in stone as offensive by Blizzard, but rather derived as inappropriate behavior by the World of Warcraft community. Some examples of griefing include:

5.1
Killing another player’s quest mobs intentionally when you do not need them.

5.2
Seeing that a player or group has been waiting for an enemy to spawn, then running in and snagging it before they can as soon as it appears.

5.3
Using spells or skills on an enemy that another player is fighting which may cause that player grief or frustration.

5.4
When in a party, taking an item from a chest without first asking if anyone else wants it. If anyone else wants the item, too, all interested players should roll for it (use the /roll command or Blizzards N&G system).

6. Player Killing Policy: This policy is not just applicable to the Player vs. Player servers, since consensual PvP is also available on the Player vs. Environment servers. As a Shadowmane Tribe member, you attempt to maintain an image of maturity and fairness. There are a lot of guilds out there that do not behave in the same manner and can possibly make the PvP experience a nightmare. We do not want to share a part in this behavior and enforce the following rules:

6.1
No corpse camping. This means hovering around a player’s corpse or spawn radius, purposely seeking them out once they spawn in order to kill them again immediately. Once you kill someone, you must be fair and give them a chance to respawn, and perhaps regain their health and mana/energy before fighting them again. You would not like to have to run repeated corpse runs, so do not put that on anyone else either.

6.2
Pick fair fights. Do not pick fights with players who differ from your level by more than 5 or so. You will know from experience what is fair. If they attack first, or have been said to attack lowbies in the area, then by all means seek justice. A lot of guilds play with a Kill On Sight (KOS) motto. You will come to know these guilds and it sometimes backfires if you do not kill them when you see them, since most of them seek reinforcements if you are seen. Members of KOS guilds may be killed on sight.

7. Share and share alike. One of the biggest benefits to being a guild member is having a large group of friends to help you progress through the game. As such, we greatly encourage members to freely share items amongst the guild. While it is not required that you give up every item you don't want to a fellow guild member, a quick message to the guild channel asking if anyone wants an item that you don't is generally a nice thing to do. Charging guild members for items and services is frowned upon, but we realize that it might be necessary for expensive trade skills such as Enchanting.

8. Alternative Characters. To keep the character population under control in the guild, members are retricted to only 1 (“one”) alternative character. If any other “alt” character is found besides the first one, the second alt will be kicked without any act of notion.

9. Rejoining. If a member leaves the guild, he can rejoin. This is only possible up to an already specified number of times within an also already specified amount of time. This is to set a statement that guilds are not like a 5 year old child’s toy. The guild has a goal for a normal and fun community with a mature aspect. If any member shows inmature behaviour by over exceeding the specified number of times within the specified amount of times it will result in a ban against he or she as punishment.

10. Out-Guild Applications. It's very unpolite towards any guilds and it's in most situations an insult towards your current guild where you reside at the moment, to post an application at another guilds website or forums without leaving the previous guild first. As this action is indirectly linked to the actions defined in section 5 ("Griefing") it's at the staff of the guilds right to inmidiatley kick and in the most extreme situation even ban he or she that made her or himself guilty to this action.

11. Guild Events. Another benefit of being in a guild is that you and other members can participate in so called guild events. To make sure that these Guild Events stay fun for all, our member are to obey the appointed Judge or the at that moment leading staff member of the event. When one disobeyes and creates chaos among the participents actions will follow against this member, in which might result that he or she be kicked from the guild or even banned.

12. Inactivity. Every guild grows in its number of members. To prevent our guild of growing to large with inactive players we have a inactivity limit of 1 ("one") month. A player will be kicked after this period. A player can always rejoin as stated in the excaption of Guild Law 9. However if he or she becomes inactive again, and this action repeats itself more then once, the staff has the right to vote and ban this player from the guild.

13. Additional Rules. This specific rule was added in March 2008. It applies to the additional Raiding rules and PvP rules that only exits as a topic within the Boards of ShadowmaneTribe.com.
All additional documents available to players that are interested in filling out an application with Shadowmane Tribe or players that recently joined the guild, are to be read as they are an extensions of these Terms and Guidelines. In failure of knowing the additional rules may result in an unexpected removal from the guild when a player breaks one of the additional rules. It is always highly recommanded for a player to read all available additional documents that state rules that apply to Shadowmane Tribe as a guild and any information or interaction within the domain ShadowmaneTribe.com.
